Eastwestbridge Summer Mandarin Camp was launched in 2005. This educational program is designed to meet the special needs of school-aged youths either ethnic Chinese or other nationalities. The program will help you learn Chinese language, experience Chinese culture, and travel to some of China's most famous tourist attractions.

This program is supported or jointly organized by Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, East China Normal University's Research Group on Teaching Mandarin to Foreigners, and Shanghai East-West Consulting Co., Ltd. The camp is held during July and August each year in the miraculously booming Chinese city--Shanghai. The following is a summary of the distinctive features of this program:

1. Emphasis on intensive and effective language learning/training with immersion in native Chinese-speaking surroundings.

2. A unique method of teaching Mandarin using newest computer software designed according to the alphabetic system of Mandarin Chinese, which has achieved amazing results in practice.

3. A well-balanced program blending highly concentrated language learning/training classes with relaxing cultural, artistic, and entertaining activities.

4. Flexible enough to allow participants to choose different time durations (from one week to one month) and select from a variety of sightseeing tours as part of the summer camp activities.
